Our current menu consists of the following, but please also note we have a day-to-day special's board also! so the pie menu varies daily!

  • ROMANY HOMMITY PIE
    Consists of Simple ingredients, Potatoes, Garlic, Cheese, Spices and Parsley make this authentic Romany pie a firm favourite.

  • SLOW BRAISED STEAK & STOUT
    Traditional British beef, seared then slow braised in stout with leeks, a classic!

  • ROAST VEG & GOATS CHEESE
    Quirky and delicious, using finest Welsh goats cheese and slow roasted sweet potato and Butternut squash & seasonal veg.

  • LAMB, LEEK & ROSEMARY
    Slow cooked minced new Zealand lamb combined with aromatic Rosemary and finest leeks come together in this unbelievably tasty pie.

  • HAGGIS & NEEP
    Real butchers Haggis, with a generous layer of Neeps. Our take on an old Scottish favorite.

  • YORKSHIRE SAUSAGE & BLACK PUDDING
    Special recipe sausage combined with a Real Black pudding, cooked to perfection.. Addictive!!

  • CREAMY CHICKEN & CIDER
     Tender chicken, braised in a creamy sauce made with real country cider. 

  • TRADITIONAL MINCE & ONION
    British beef minced and flavoured with onion and Henderson's Relish makes a traditional pie even better!

  • BACON FLODDIE
    An old farmhouse favourite. Bacon, egg, shredded potato and onion with our secret seasoning combines into a rich and delicious pie. Very popular.

     We cook our pies fresh each day & sometimes we run out..
         We would rather give you a quality fresh pie than the choice of lots of frozen ones.






Our Flour

Milled especially for us by Yorkshire Organic millers
using traditional stone grinding wheels,
the flour  in our pastry is a labour of love.
Our Miller ‘David’ listens to the sound of the wheat as it is milled and 
makes adjustments to the grind on the fly, this results 
in a traditional nutritious flour.
Using no  bleaches or additives
All the wheat is grown organically
on the farm or bought in from within 25 miles. 
The farm is certified by the soil association (G42170 
carries the organic certification (UK5)


Our Meat

Provided to us by a local butcher, Mr Halder has
been in the business for many years, sourcing all the
beef and lamb locally from Ruswarp livestock market
(2 miles up the Esk river) he prepares it for us in
his purpose built butchery before delivering it to us
daily, thereby ensuring we know the provenance of
the meat in each of our pies.

Our Eggs

Our own flock of twenty hens started off as the
children's pets and are now supplying the shop with true
free range eggs laying in the acre of woodland were
they will also hatch there own babies without any of
our intervention the first four have rapidly grown to
the twenty plus we have now!!
And yes they are all named.
